• This is an outstanding dessert variety. It starts bearing fruit early, it yields profusely, but has a tendency to alternate yields.
  
  The tree grows very strongly, the crown is large, broadly spherical, spread out, not too dense, easy to form.
  


• The fruits of the Witos variety are medium-sized or large, spherical, slightly flattened, with poorly marked ribs around the calyx. The peel of the fruit is smooth, medium thick, brittle, shiny, green, greenish-yellow when ripe for consumption, almost half covered with a red, striped-blurred blush. Greyish spiracles, sparse, sometimes with a reddish border. The flesh of the fruit is light cream, loose, brittle, very juicy, sour-sweet, aromatic.
  
  Harvest maturity of this variety is reached in mid-September. They can be stored in a cold store until mid-November.

• Resistant to scab, moderately susceptible to mildew. The fruit is prone to bitter blotch
  


• Witos is an apple variety selected in 1975 at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) by Aleksander Rejman and Emilian Pitera from the seedling population obtained from the crossing of Primula and Fantazja.
